Summary
He wonders if MacTavish told Shepherd about it - whether to him he's just another replaceable asset that could be thrown out the minute its most useful lifespan reached its fair end -, then shakes his head, confusing the Captain because he hasn't even said anything, is simply looking at him with those curious, icy blue eyes that have the ability to throw a better deathglare than even Riley can manage in a bad mood. MacTavish wouldn't -
Riley, MacTavish, a dusty storage room, and the looming presence of nothingness.

Summary
It was quiet for less than thirty minutes before the sounds of the humans returned, this time an awkward scramble of many footsteps and nearly as many voices. They came into view only a moment later, and his eyes widened at the sight of the large blue tarp-thing hung between two poles being carried by more than a dozen humans, each straining under the obvious weight.
A massive caudal fin hung from one end of the tarp, but it had been so heavily wrapped in soaked towels to keep it from drying out that it was impossible to see in any real detail. It was also, Johnny noticed with sudden unease, completely, utterly limp.

Summary
“I know that— sir,” MacTavish tried, but Shepherd wasn’t having it—
“There’s nothing Ghost can do for you that another one of your soldiers can’t. I appreciate your concern, but Ghost has spent a lot longer working under me,” he told him firmly, at odds with the gentle way he placed the folder back on his desk and readjusted it out of his line of sight, “and I’ll make sure he’s utilised best.”
As if that was what he was concerned about— but he didn’t voice that, accepting the answer for what it was.
the international stage has finally settled to a point where mactavish feels confident enough to ask ghost out properly. ghost, on the other hand, is nowhere to be found, busy carrying out shepherd's orders

Summary
Soap's laugh crackled through the comms, bright with adrenaline. "Knew you had our back. Barely broke a sweat, eh Lt.?"
"Dripping with it," he deadpanned. "Just not where you can see."
"Bet you look proper deadly all soaked through like that," Soap teased.
Ghost opened his mouth to respond when the world detonated in a corona of white fire. Ghost had a split-second to register the ozone smell, the hairs on his arms standing erect—
BOOM.
The thunderclap hit like a mortar round. Ghost's vision whited out as fifty thousand amps coursed through the tower—through him—turning his nerves to live wires. His back arched violently as every muscle locked in agony.
Then—blissful nothingness.
...
Aka Ghost gets struck by lightning...

Summary
He'd earned his rank, his honors, and his name. There’s been little time where he wasn’t working, being sent on mission after mission. John went where he was ordered and completed the job he was given, he was confident. That didn't mean he was ready to lead a Task Force of twenty soldiers.
Ghost sits across from him, lowering his bag to the floor next to him. Still sitting ramrod straight.
