    After a long time refusing to go hunting, J understands that her systems won't last on much longer.
    Dread fills her mind when she believes to be hallucinating the figure of Tessa, expecting to be hurt by her own mind sooner or later.

    In other words: J thinks she's hallucinating when Tessa walks into the pod as a drone while she's slowly dying of starvation and Tessa has to rush and save her. AKA how much can I torture J before giving her well-earned healing.
    I cried rereading my own fic and it's not even that bad I am dealing great with this. She's my favorite for a reason.
