The hit pierced her side sharp and clean, the impact sent her backwards, too weak and in pain to attempt to focus on levitating, she slipped from the rocks…

The times she met the woman were few and far between, with her appearing suddenly one day and taking her in like a storm, before disappearing sometimes for months, before returning without many words, holding her in her arms, worshiping her like she was the goddess of this world and not the figure that loomed on the horizon, without never asking anything in return, if not Emma’s presence and warmth.
She barely knew anything about Clea, and if she were to admit, she didn’t really try to pry for her secrets. She always had this faraway look in her eyes whenever Emma wasn’t being object of her attention, ever present.
Clea herself had taken her by surprise last time.
“When the Paintress will fall, then, I will tell you everything.”
The way she had spoken was almost certain that the being that plagued this world for almost a century would be defeated. Like she knew something no one else did.

Lune dreams in black and white, in her dreams she sees her, she never heard her voice, never seen her face, or any of her features, for she is only a blurred line in black.
But she always hears it loud and clear. The notes are soft, gentle, but always carry a touch of sorrow.
It’s a harp.
When she awakens, there’s no one, just the notes of her dreams lingering in her mind. Then, together with her trusted guitar she would attempt to replay them.

Summary
For the people of Lumière, their entire lifetime was dictated by petals. These small, pretty and colorful things fluttering carelessly in the wind clueless of their meaning.
For Lune, studying the existence of these petals, and the reason why people dissolved into them and chroma, dictated her whole life from the moment she was born.
For Sciel, petals had been both that and something else. As a farmer, she saw flowers grow every day of her life, of every shape and color, learned their names, their meaning, and how to tend and nurture them with her hands.
But it was because of the petals that that night would forever remain imprinted in their minds, despite the different paths they chose to take.
