Her thoughts wandered back to the bruises around Nathan’s wrists. Then to the ones along his collarbone. She hadn’t gotten a very good view of them, but they’d have to had gone lower than that. She pinched the bridge of her nose, averting her eyes from the mirror’s reflection.
You didn’t get marks like that simply from a beating. You just didn’t.

Then Nathan spoke softly.

“Not if it's more self-loathing."
Nathan chewed his lip. “What about the truth?”
Boon glanced at him.
Nathan looked exhausted in a way no fourteen-year-old ever should.
“Alright,” Boon murmured. “Shoot.”
Nathan leaned back in his seat, hands clasped tightly together. He stared up at the roof of the car like he could somehow see the night sky through it. If Boon hadn’t known better, he would’ve thought the kid was praying.
Or confessing.
Finally, he breathed out, “I killed my mom.”

Or, Nathan runs from his past until he can't. It doesn’t take much for Boon to realize he’s done the same.

Summary
It's the first winter after Pitch's defeat. Jack is happy, he's not alone anymore, and his memories are gradually returning. But when a treasure hunt gone wrong puts Jack and Jamie in danger, flinging them through time and space, they find themselves on an island neither of them have heard of before. Jack's first priority is to get Jamie home safe, but Berk's inhabitants - human and otherwise - are certainly not making it easy.
Knowing they will leave Berk and the Vikings behind as soon as they know how to, Jack is not going to risk the pain of growing close to any of these people (or dragons, for that matter). But Hiccup Horrendous Haddock, wearing his heart on his sleeve, doesn't seem to want to take the hint.

The Afton kids are grown and have moved far from Hurricane in order to avoid their father getting out of prison. Especially with Lizzie being a mother now. They couldn’t still be in the same town as that man with a child.
So they moved, and now Cassie is turning nine. They hold a birthday party for her, but the name of the Afton’s follow them even when their newest member doesn’t share the same name. No one showed up to her party.
Except for one, much too thin, boy.
(Aka I noticed Cassie looks a lot like the way I picture Lizzie and I desperately wanted to add the two SB kids into this au)

Summary
All Gregory wanted was a warm place to sleep and some (stolen) food, but he ends up being hunted down by murderous animatronics and security guards alike, having to quite literally fight for his life, and he can’t escape no matter what he does — given that time keeps resetting whenever he dies.
Maybe this all has to do with what’s hiding in the basement, and everything else that’s haunting the Pizzaplex … too bad for them, Gregory isn’t going to give up on this.
