Keith had said he was fine.
He’d sat down on the couch with Lance, had put his hands in his pockets, had smiled blankly as Lance told him that it wasn’t his fault, that it was Lance, that he wasn’t happy, that he didn’t like Keith in that way anymore, that it was fun while it lasted. Keith had smiled so hard it felt like his face was permanently etched in stone, pretended his eyes weren’t watering, let Lance give him back whatever had accumulated at his apartment over the past four months, and walked out on shaky legs.
Keith had said he was fine.
And then the flowers had started growing.

Summary
Keith sacrifices himself to save a whole planet; in doing so he gets sucked into a wormhole, leading back to Earth.
He crash lands the Red Lion. The broken lion can't get a message back to his team. All alone, Keith knows he can't go back to the Garrison, just look at what they did to Shiro when he crash landed on Earth. He can't go back to Texas, there's no one waiting for him there.
That's when Keith remembers something his boyfriend said, something about how his family would accept him as one of their own...
OR basically Keith bonding with Lance's family on Earth as he tries to get his lion working again so he can reunite with his team.
