If it were up to me, I’d keep you for the scientists and myself.” It’s a little grim to think about, but Winston is trying not to think of anything right now.

    Deep in his gut, he has a feeling where O’Brien is going with this, but it makes it no less surprising. The look in his eyes is nothing short of predatory. A snake ensnaring a helpless mouse. “Maybe if our negative reinforcement isn’t working, we could try a brief period of positive reinforcement. You’re quite a sexual man, aren’t you, Winston?” O’Brien’s question makes his mouth fall open.
