Sonic waited until they were out of eyesight before exhaling a huge sigh of relief, sheathing his sword at his side and fixing his posture. When he turned around, he realized that Lancelot was now hunched over on the ground clutching his side. One glance showed him the dark crimson spilling over silver metal and that was all he needed to see before rushing to his side.
OR
Lancelot gets hurt and Sonic takes care of him (and maybe feelings are shared along the way).

Summary
Shadow tried making excuses, he really did. He could say that he didn't know how it all started, but every single word and heartbreaking look was stuck in his brain like a painful splinter. Painful enough to never let him forget it.
He and Sonic had had an argument, that in itself wasn't out of the ordinary considering they were long-time rivals way before their relationship. But this was different. This was deep, deeper than any late night conversation fueled by insomnia and unhealed trauma. This was fueled by fear, and Shadow really didn't want to admit that that fear had gotten the better of him in the end.

The team goes crazy over their missing Sergeant and Mavarov has some plans for the little soldier. Will they ever see him again? Will he even be alive?

Shadow had to hold back his whimpers as Sonic trailed his gloved paws over his wings. He was sitting right on the edge of his bed, with the hedgehog right behind him. He made the dumb mistake of complaining about how his back hurt, and made the even dumber mistake of telling Sonic that the issue probably had something to do with the wings that occasionally sprouted from it. And Sonic insisted on helping.
