Hopper released a puff of air in response to that, and Steve made sure not to get too excited; he wasn’t out of the clear yet.
“Alright, well–I still think we should check you out later. Looks like you took a real beating.”
Steve’s shoulders raised and fell.
“Like I said, it looks worse than it is.” Steve was surprised he’d manage to utter such a remarkable lie. It was about as bad as it looked, he just wouldn’t admit to it.

When she finally stopped moving, Steve himself laid back into the pillow and stared at the ceiling, silently processing what had just happened. He really had a woman in his bed, huh? Hell, he had a woman in his bed and he hadn’t even the slightest intentions on trying anything. Hell must’ve frozen over.

“Purpose, question?”
Rocky, please. I’m trying to spare you right now.
Basically, Grace gets exposed to a dangerous amount of radiation during an EVA and doesn't want to tell Rocky bc of what happened to Rocky's crew <3
THIS IS A REWORKED VERSION OF "TEMPEST" - after some comments, I wanted to keep the soul of the story, but make it more scientifically plausible. While there are still probably some inaccuracies, I still hope this isn't as messy as before.

Summary
William was never good at keeping track of time. Either by accident or on purpose, to avoid sleep and meals to continue working indefinitely on his precious research. It was admirable, almost frightening how dedicated he was for his work; but ultimately unsustainable. Even geniuses crash eventually, no matter how stubborn. God, was he stubborn.
Or, wesker scores a lunch date with his sleep deprived best friend because he keeps crashing out

Summary
He throws the car in park and removes the key before leaning forward slightly to rest his forehead on the steering wheel. The car shakes as the kids scramble out of it, slamming the doors closed behind them. Each resulting WHAM sets off fireworks behind Steve’s closed eyelids.
He just needs a minute. One minute of silence. Then, he’ll go inside to wrangle the kids and clean up before Mrs. Byers gets back.
A hand lands on his shoulder and he jumps, whipping his head to see who’s touching him. Pain floods over the left side of his head and down through his neck and shoulders. He presses a hand into his left eyebrow, trying to chase the pain away with the pressure.
Dustin still sits in the passenger seat next to him. His hand tightens on his shoulder, eyes blown wide.
“Steve, hey, you okay?”
