Summary
When the Medic and Engineer signed up to be a RED mercenary, their motivations couldn't be more different. The Engineer had a legacy to fulfill, a destiny placed upon him by his father. The Medic grew tried of the same monotonous life and craved the thrilling freedom of this new job, finding the opportunity to kill and maim people without worrying about the authorities exciting.
They knew that being a hired killer would come with its fair share of surprises, but nothing could prepare them for how much they would be changed by it. From the highs and lows of mercenary work to learning more about themselves. How their lives would be altered from meeting the other; from meeting their partner.

Summary
What was originally supposed to be a simple contract job turned to disaster when Medic dies unexpectedly. No respawn machine in sight to bring him back. Engie holds on for hope in spite of it. The doc's come back from the dead before, he must have a trick up his sleeve this time, right?
Or rather, Medic is stuck in a 1950s suburban hellscape and it's up to Engie to break him out of it.

Where he couldn't contain his anger to his sister, Queen Lagoon, anymore.
That day had become his biggest regret. But, as a spirit, now forced to roam the empty halls of where his massacre took place as if it were some sick joke by the moons. He could never tell any dragon what happened. He would remain as a sad specter of what others only see as a monster.
When two thousand years later, a small, terrified animus prince, approaches the lonely spirit. For the first time in his life, (and afterlife) Albatross is able to tell his story. To set it all straight. To share his own memoir.

Really really spectacular piece. I'm such a big fan of when fics pull stuff like this and it is such a cute and heartwarming experience. The amount of times I "awwh"'d at stuff would be too many to count. Something too about how this fic tackles period-typical homophobia and how Jarthur have to navigate the pitfalls of being famous artists in a queer relationship. Really enjoyed this one a lot. Also the bookbinding I saw on Tumblr is SPECTACULAR like holy shit good lord. I should link it in this bookmark to just to return to it because goddamn that's some gorgeous bookbinding. Anyways very cute fic. Also really liked the detail of Ivy being named after a plant, a deliberate choice from John. Johnny Boy you ain't slick,,, Also also aromantic Arthur Lester my beloved forever <33 Yay <333

Really really cute and silly modern AU chatfic! Probably one of the first ever types of these fics that I really enjoyed. I really like the other side characters, particularly Connie and Selby. I think outsider POVs for the wacky shenanigans of Malevolent is fertile soil for comedy and this fic takes that chance and does wonders with it. John is also a Paramore fan. Hell yeah

Summary
In the early 1930s, a new variety of creatures were discovered, known as the Carnis. First was the Crawl, the bright red vine of muscle that grew to cover the earth. Then other beings emerged, the Harvester with spiked roots, the skinless, humanoid Mimic, the towering, many-limbed Monoliths, among others. After an initial scare, it seemed that everything was fine regarding the new inhabitants of the world. And life adapted and continued, including the seemingly never-ending gravel war.
Two years ago, the war was put on hold as the threat of the meat creatures rose, interfering with the normal routine of the battles. And so RED and BLU were disbanded.
But now, letters beckon the mercenaries back to their old job, their old life. And they accept, eager to return to New Mexico. However, things have changed.

Really really fun and angsty romp that is super in-character. Personally adore the Medic characterization. Also fun and unique crossover too :] Just note that it can and will stab you in the chest and leave you to bleed out and die but, eh, that's the fun of it

OUghhHHHoohhhgghhh,, grghrghrr.r... God I actually have to be somewhat coherent here but I just find it hard to gather the words to really sum up how I feel about this fic so far.
Currently on chapter three as of writing this bookmark but hoollllyyy shit is this some good stuff right here. The way that the prose perfectly matches that of DE's writing scratches an itch in my brain I never knew I had. The first chapter is so good oh my god. The entire time I was reading it I was just blown away by how exceptionally well the characters were portrayed. Call me Harry Du Bois the way I'm hearing their voices in my head loud and clear. The back-and-forth between Jean and Harry is so damn good man like...oh my god Jean's character. I love him deeply. And OUGHHHH the way that reality bends and warps due to the Pale and how it shifts from imagination into somewhat reality, with Jean being dragged into it all. The way it seamlessly shifts to second-person and into the DE style of things is just. I need to put this fic in my mouth and chew on it for stimulation purposes.
The way that Jean's skills work too is so fascinating. All of them are pretty much useless and extremely unhelpful. The bit where they were just called "Jean 2/3/4/2.b.e" is so good man. I wish I could write humour that made me consistently laugh like that. It's so good. I had to pause mid-way through just to bookmark it since I already know I'm going to want to come back later and re-read it again and again. A billion kudos to the author.
