“Sun’ll be down by the time you take this thing outta park,” Daryl grumbled.
“Fine, fine, I’m moving. Sorry for wanting to learn,” Paul said, disengaging the handbrake and pressing his foot down on the accelerator. The car jolted forward before slamming to an even more sudden halt.
“How’re you screwin’ this up? It ain’t even a stick shift. Rate you’re goin’ you’ll crash this thing before we even make it outta the damn gate,” Daryl said, his hands braced on the dashboard.
“I’m just getting a feel for it. I guess that’s why they have seatbelts, huh?” Paul pulled the strap away from his chest, loosening the belt again and giving it some slack.
“Never needed a seatbelt in my goddamn life before you showed up,” Daryl grumbled

Summary
He retched, spitting water and debris back into the lake, but the foul taste of it clung to the inside of his mouth, the stench filling his nostrils. His wild splashing turned more purposeful as he moved from the panic of falling into the water and into a freestyle stroke, swimming to the slippery, steeply inclined edge of the creek. He reached for the exposed roots of a tree, using them to help get his feet underneath himself. Retching again, his chest heaving with the force of it, Paul spat a wad of dirt and mud out of his mouth. There was a low, rumbling sound from up on the bank and Paul frowned, looking up to see something he hadn’t had much opportunity to witness: Daryl smiling. And, more than that, Daryl was laughing.
“It’s not that funny,” Paul said, his voice rasping out.
“Funniest shit I’ve seen in a good long while,” Daryl said. He looked down at Paul, his lips twitching again before he looked away. He pressed his knuckles to his lips but it did nothing to conceal the way his shoulders shook with laughter. “Way you fell head over ass. What happened to them ninja reflexes, huh?”

The tree stood tall in the field, its branches stretching out in a wide circumference, the canopy covering the ground below it in shade. It was a marker, a beacon, a destination that Aaron ran towards, fuelled by sheer desperation. There was movement, a swaying body that staggered and swayed with each slow, unbalanced step. Aaron felt the air leave his lungs and he couldn’t suck in another breath. He couldn’t do anything at all for a moment but stare at the back of Eric’s head and feel his throat constrict and his chest burn. The world around him went still for a moment, frozen as if stopped in time, before everything seemed to crash around him, his entire existence splintered and fractured. He lurched forward, his husband’s name on his lips, his broken voice carried on the humid air.

“Almost doesn’t seem worth it then,” Jesus called back, cheerfully, and performed a little twirl in the mud.
“You catch cold and you can get yourself back to Hilltop!” Daryl yelled after him, and Jesus responded by raising his middle finger in the air, illuminated with the beam of his flashlight, not bothering to slow down or look back.

During the celebration, Finn decides to take a risk. If the beings of this system can face the longest night of the year with hope, then Finn can certainly tell Poe one of the things he’s desperately hoping for, what's in his heart.
