Then he gets thrown into a universe much different yet uncomfortably similar to his own, and realizes that maybe... Tim's more like his shitty family than he realized.
He couldn't care less how concerning that sounds, just get him home already. Emotionally-competent Bruce Wayne is giving him the heebie jeebies.

Some douchebag influencer decides to challenge one of the Waynes to an MMA fight, and he goes with Tim. There's a big public announcement, making a big deal of it, mockingly suggesting the Waynes can donate the proceeds to charity, so long as Tim gets in the ring with him, and people are like, Tim? Really? And there's a huge kerfuffle, people calling the influencer out for going after someone way smaller than him and people egging him on. The Batfam, however? Telling the truth betrays every instinct he has, but Tim is nerved out beyond all reasonable measures, and he just wants to find a way home.
Besides, he thinks, half-bitterly, it might be nice to have someone else in this lonely new universe, even if it's just for a little while.“I’ll make you a deal, okay?” He tries to bargain with the wizard. “I’ll help you with this Thanos guy, and you help me get back to my own universe.”

“You opened a cross-dimensional rift,” Strange says slowly, like he doesn’t believe Tim’s lie, “to look for your brother.”
