Summary

“You gonna keep staring till I bleed out on your floor—” Slade watched the kid’s glare soften slightly as his eyes flitted to the hardwood and spotted the dark smear of blood where Slade first fell “—or are you willing to help me?”
The man’s gaze cut across the floor to Slade’s legs. His eyes briefly widened at the shades of crimson—rusty and brown to vibrant carmine—which stained the pinstriped trousers at Slade’s thigh and trailed in trickling streams down the pant leg. With the slight twist of his waist, Slade angled his leg higher until the kid could see the hole torn at his hip and the angry red skin—a blackened ring around the entry point—through the frayed fabric.
“I’m not a doctor.”
