“Goddammit, Jet. Stop dreaming about death, it isn't normal.” Gabe laughs, pressing a kiss to his cheek as he passes. “Live in the now, it's more important.”

“Shh.” Someone says, and something strokes against his head. It’s warm, ruffles his hair. “It’s okay.”
Jesil wraps his arm around his middle, supporting him as he topples. Jet hides his face in his shoulder, bites down.
“It’s okay to cry.” Anyasus’ hand is warm against his shoulder. Warm, human, flesh and blood. “It’s okay to miss him, it’s okay to scream.”
