Summary
The mating run was an annual, voluntary event where unmated omegas ran and alphas gave chase to prove themselves to their chosen omega. If they caught the omega, the alpha earned the privilege of courting them.
Stiles didn't see much point in participating in his first run, since there were no alphas interested in him.

Stiles was an omega in a society that treated omegas as second class, so he uses suppressants to pass as a beta.
Until his best friend gets bitten by a werewolf and Stiles, in his research, learns that werewolves view omegas as precious. So he goes to a werewolf/human club to maybe meet a nice werewolf, still on suppressants because he doesn't want to be wanted just for being an omega.
Not only does he catch the owners' eyes, their pack also decides to adopt him.
