    The shout came from his left and Logan took another sip of his drink, trying hard to school his expression into that of a concerned partner and not just laugh outright at Wade dropping the whole ass axe on his foot.

    Steve likes it, this easy friendship they have forming between them. Eddie is so smart and funny and kind in a way Steve wasn't expecting. Eddie's also tactile, always reaching out to touch Steve. Playfully shoving Steve or slinging an arm around his shoulders or hip-checking him while they stand side by side in the kitchen cooking.

    Instead of finding it irritating though, Steve loves it. He loves the attention, the easy affection. He loves Eddie's teasing remarks and all the little nicknames he comes up with for Steve.

    Eddie is fast becoming one of Steve's best friends.

    There's no replacing the bond he has with Robin, and he'll always love Dustin like a brother, but Eddie is different. He fits into Steve's life in a way Steve didn't realize he needed, like a missing puzzle piece.

    While helping with packing and moving Eddie's stuff to the Munsons' new trailer, Steve and Robin accidentally come across some of Eddie's very private magazines. They decide to hide them at Robin's place until Eddie comes home, and that should be the end of it.
    So Eddie's queer. It's not a big deal, because so is Robin. Except Steve can't stop thinking about it, and about their interactions in the Upside Down, and about how nice it feels whenever Eddie looks or smiles at him.
    It might be just the flattery of it all, somebody finally being interested in him after a while, that's getting to him. Or is it? Would he feel the same way about any guy? And what should he even do about it?
    Steve goes through a complex week of introspection; thankfully, not without his platonic soulmate by his side always ready to talk. And in the end, it doesn't matter if he still has doubts or unanswered questions. One thing he knows for sure: there's something about Eddie that makes him want to just go for it.
