Sunset spills over the concrete tiles of the school rooftop. It’s a beautiful day, complete with the faint chirp of birdsong and the rustling of leaves in the distance.
“Is this a joke?” Rui’s words, sharp and clipped, echo in the empty space. He says nothing else, but his hands begin to clench. There is a tension in the air that gradually sets in.
Tsukasa's eyes widen.
"I would never be with someone as selfish as you."
In which Tsukasa confesses to Rui and gets rejected. Feeling are had, misunderstandings ensue, and Nene saves the day.

Tsukasa Tenma was trying to flirt.
Or, at the very least, he was trying to get closer, romantically, to Rui.
He had recently realised that his feelings for the director extended quite a bit beyond the strictly platonic and he had since been watching, observing other couples in the hopes of learning how to do something about it–because the very best of stars were diligent about matters of the heart too! While he did not quite feel emotionally prepared enough for Saki's more forward way of flirting with girls or Emu and Nene's propensity for skinship, he thought he could at least manage this:

Or, Tsukasa has some... unconventional flirting methods. He somehow manages to make it work.
