- Did you know that the mosquitoes biting you are always girls?
Greg Heffley was dead-set on his goals: being rich, famous and having a girlfriend. Nothing stopped him. For years, he'd been pushing towards them, not caring for any disturbances. Anything could be fixed.
Maybe except for one issue. Rowley Jefferson.
Like some insect, the kid's been hanging around him for years, in dreams and reality, always there, unchangeable. And after 6th grade ended? Good God. The thought of Rowley constantly followed and bit him every second of the day, twenty four per seven.The same as the thought of Greg kept haunting Rowley two houses away. His horrible best friend, always there, always waspy, trying to change him for better or worse. And yet, even with all that, and his need to be the best, to listen to his parents' warnings... he still thinks of him sickeningly fondly.
It's a huge entangled issue for both of them and it takes two to resolve and balance it, to perhaps even better what they've built so far. Or maybe it had always been territory never to breach, and what awaits them will be even deadlier than some measly Cheese Touch?
