He wouldn't blame MJ if he called off their date by slamming a door in Peter's face the moment he saw the brunette standing outside his apartment. Unfortunately, being Spider-Man came with its downsides, one of which included a very finicky schedule.
Everything with MJ was so new. Not to mention unusual. For starters, Peter had never dated a guy before. It was both familiar and foreign at the same time, he found. Aside from that, Peter also simply hadn't felt this way in a long time. Not since—

It still hurt a bit to think about her. Like a scar that was still sensitive to touch.
MJ wasn't Gwen, though. Peter wouldn't let things end the same way again. MJ didn't know about Peter's double life, and Peter intended to keep it that way this time.
Unfortunately, this meant MJ was less likely to be understanding when Peter was as late as he was now.OR
A short oneshot of Peter worrying about how Spider-Man affects his new relationship with MJ. Especially considering he's out of practice in dating seeing as it's been around three years since Gwen died.

Summary
Peter was alone, mid-way through an existential crisis after the Erasure™ and was dreading the upcoming month of May.
Jason was sick of people telling him how he felt. ‘You don’t need us anymore,’ Artemis had told him, as if saying it would make it true. As if Jason needed someone to justify keeping them around. But three weeks back in Gotham and all Jason felt was fucking bored and lonely.
It was a relief, then, when some random New Yorker was thrown into his living room through a portal straight out of some LSD daydream.
Finally, something interesting to deal with.
Cue some wild family misunderstandings, criminal conspiracies and cults.
Because there’s always a goddamn cult.

Summary
The entrance of one Peter Parker was explosive in Gotham, both literally and figuratively.
When Spiderman made his debut, it was in tandem with Wilson Fisk’s encroachment upon the U.S.A’s most crime riddled city on the East Coast. The Kingpin had been making moves, trying his hand at getting a slice of Gotham’s particular brand of awful.
Jason chose to stay away from it all, not feeling particularly inclined to get involved with another moralistic hero type. He hadn’t added to his body count in a bit, but the blood on his hands had a habit of pissing off the virtuous more often than not.
That made it all the more surprising when Spiderman reached out to him first, landing on the same rooftop as Jason one random night in the middle of March.
