Summary
“The big one I understand… Massive, spooky fucker still has me on edge even passed out and tied up where I can see him, but what use are horns and a pair of big, blue eyes?”
The members of Price's 141 may have a certain, lofty notoriety but often a pedestal is just a further height from which to fall. Dangerous when there are those who enjoy nothing more than ripping wings off of pretty things. Out of options, Soap makes a sacrifice play. Ghost gets dragged into the game but he's not playing at all.

Summary
“Hey Ghostie! Long time no see!”.
Ghost had only scoffed, Mace bounding over, clasping a hand to his shoulder. Ghost had narrowed his eyes, gaze flicking to the hand on him, but made no movement to remove it.
“Mace.”
Ghosts’ eyes had trailed up Mace. To the gold mask sitting on his face; then, finally, to Mace’s eyes.
Was Ghost happy to see him? Mace could never tell with the asshole.OR
Soap died in that tunnel nearly 3 years ago. Mace is now apart of the 141as they search for Makarov, except a masked villain keeps getting in the way.

Summary
An alternate first meeting, where Ghost and Soap meet each other in the field under infinitely worse circumstances than either of them would have liked:
Ghost wakes up in a pit under a building with a bomb attached to him, certain he's going to die. Soap, an EOD tech amongst his other specialties, is the only person available to at least try to save him. It should be fraught, and tense, and miserable all around, and it is; a whole lot of Ghost slowly losing his mind while Soap does everything he can to save his life. But it would probably be easier if Ghost wasn't a stress-flirter, and if Soap wasn't the kind of endlessly competent that he loved, and if, by virtue of their situation, they didn't keep ripping open each other's wounds and then patching each other back up again after.

Summary
But the silence that day...
The silence that filled the air that day was harder than the fight itself.
If he thinks about it hard enough he swears he still can see Johnny breathing. Maybe just the slightest rise and fall of his chest, barely there, and barely visible to anyone but someone insane enough to pay that much attention. He thinks he can still feel Johnny's pulse. Faint, light, a flutter, but a hint of life.
And he wonders if they made the wrong call. He dreams about it. Nightmares of Johnny being buried alive. Johnny being cremated while still fighting to stay alive. He knows it's not sensible. Knows that no one survives that much blood loss, or the injuries Johnny sustained, and if they did, he knows they'd never be the same. But the 'what if' is always stronger than rationality.

Summary
“What’s wrong.” Soap asks, because his sister has been too quiet for far too long.
The grating noise in the background is swallowed completely by her next words:
“He’s dead, John.”
Or: The death of Soap’s father brings him closer to his lieutenant.
