Summary
Mostly canon-compliant. I suck at summaries. This is entirely self-indulgent.
Ichikawa Emiko is 18 years old when she watches her parents die in front of her. She is 18 when she and her younger brother are rescued from the same rampaging kaiju by a young Ashiro Mina. She is still 18 when she enlists in the Japan Anti-Kaiju Defense Force to help pay the bills and sends Reno with their grandparents. Emiko loves Reno deeply, and she does not regret her decision for even a moment.
