Everyone gets a turn to be Anakin Skywalker's best friend which leaves Obi-Wan, who was once fairly confident in his status as Anakin's best friend, strangely hurt. Why didn't he just answer the question with the answer everyone expected and save them all the trouble?

Things like, "I'm sorry," and "I killed Emperor Palpatine," and "I handed the Imperial government over to Bail Organa in exchange for your address."
Worst of all: "I love you, Obi-Wan."
