Snagging the nearby glass of water, Rose carefully lifts her mother’s head as she presses it to her lips. Water trickles down the length of Mom’s chin as she struggles to stay upright and swallow it; it really is a measure of how weak and ill she’s feeling that she can’t partake in her most favorite of past times — drinking. Rose clucks her tongue as she attempts to pull the glass away and water pours down the front of Mom’s nightgown. “I’m beginning to suspect that you prefer to bathe in whatever drink you indulge yourself with, mother. It would certainly explain the constant reek of booze.”
Or: Mom Lalonde becomes terribly ill, and it's up to Rose to tend to her needs until she's back to full health.

“Goddammit, Bro,” Rose says hoarsely, and he sees her pressing a hand to her throat in his mind’s eye. “Do that again, and you’ll live to regret it.” It’s not an empty threat. Every time Bro “steps out of line”, whatever that means to Rose, she opts to punish him with a colorful array of implements that makes him both regret and anticipate her next lesson. Rose is just as sadistic as he is masochistic, which works well for them except for when it doesn’t. The older Rose becomes, the more she attempts to wrest the reigns of control from him — which forces him to put her in her place, and thus the cycle repeats.
Or: Rose sets out to demonstrate her dominance, and Bro reluctantly surrenders himself to her control.

His eyes are wild and intent and intense on Naru’s when he speaks, but his voice is calm and serious as he continues. “I would not sacrifice you to save the world, but instead burn it to rescue you. I will destroy it, if you bid it. I will kill without hesitation if you will it.”
Or: Nephrite plants a seed, and Naru’s left to nurture it and let it grow.

“You’re awfully talkative for a dead kid,” Rick says. “Do us both a favor and shut your trap, Morty. I’ll let you know if I’m suddenly overcome with the need to weep.” He doesn’t so much as bat an eyelash, but Morty doesn’t think the tension in his body could be more obvious. He’s wound up so tightly that it has to hurt, but that doesn’t solve nearly as much as Morty thought it would.
