Summary
I considered just getting a diary but something about that felt dumb. Not that letters seem cool or something. Letters I definitely won’t ever send.
Or
Ao'nung's feelings for the new boy at school grow into something a little more than just a friendship. He finds himself writing letters to make sense of everything.

Friends.
It wasn’t right.
Not at all.
He didn’t want to be friends because that’s not what they were.
Friends don’t kiss every part of your body and memorize the stripes on your skin.
Friends don’t make your heart beat out of your chest.
Friends don’t touch you in the slightest way and make it feel like the most striking thing you’ve ever experienced.
Friends don’t make you want something you can’t have.
Friends don’t make you wish they were a girl instead.Or
Aonung and Neteyam were in a secret relationship because they’re too sacred. Neteyam dies before Aonung can properly love him and now he remembers some of their memories.
(Btw the ******* this symbol is to indicate a memory)

Summary
"Son," Jake tried again, his voice a whisper as he ignored the jeering of Quaritch beside him and the frenzy of the Mangkwan. The only thing that mattered to him was his son. "Please, you have to remember. It's me, Jake, your dad. And those are your brother's, Lo'ak and Spider, and your sisters, Kiri and Tuk."
Neteyam's hand momentarily stilled, putting a stop to the sacrificial markings he had been painting across Jake's skin. The conflict on his face was impossible to hide, physically paining Jake when he couldn't reach out to embrace his son and tell him that everything would be okay.
"I don't--"
"Bro," Lo'ak cut him off, pleading as he fought against his restraints. "We have to get out of here, it's not safe. We can explain everything to you once we get back."
"No," he quickly hissed, shooting down anyone else who dared to speak against him. Before handing off the wooden bowl of paint and storming away, Neteyam seethed, "I am the son of Varang, and my place is with the Mangkwan. I don't know who any of you are."
or... Neteyam couldn't remember anything except his name and the voices of his past. Luckily, he had Varang and the Mangkwan to guide him through it.

Summary
Awa'atlu Military Summer Program, June 2173.
One hundred years ago, a young counselor named Aomanu was drowned on the south beach. Now, on the anniversary of that night, the debt comes due.
When a supernatural force begins possessing staff and hunting campers through the dark, Neteyam and Ao'nung are forced to work together to survive. They've spent the last few weeks hating each other. They might not make it to sunrise.
But in the blood-soaked hours before dawn, something else emerges, something neither of them was prepared for. Something that might be worth surviving for.
A slasher love story.

Summary
"You're such a fucking coward." The words came out quiet, but they landed like a slap.
"Don't call me that."
"Why not? It's true." Neteyam stepped closer, into his space, close enough to smell the familiar passionfruit scent that had haunted his dreams for the past months. "You're so terrified of what it might mean that you'd rather burn everything down than admit you felt something."
"I didn't feel anything—"
"Liar." The word was a weapon. "You felt it. You wanted it."
Ao'nung's face went red— from anger or embarrassment, or both. "Shut the fuck up."
"I think you'll do anything to avoid having an actual honest conversation." Neteyam's voice was cold now, all the hurt crystallizing into something sharp. "Including picking a fight. Including pretending I'm just some drunk mistake you can forget about."
"I said shut UP—"
OR
It's the summer of 2173 at the Awa'atlu Military Summer Program. Neteyam is supposed to keep everyone in line, but Ao'nung is everywhere he shouldn’t be, and he can’t look away.
