“He’s gonna blow all the other kindergarteners out of the water in the fall,” she says. Blake’s smile turns into a grin.
“It’s not a competition,” she murmurs, despite the pride blooming in her chest.
“Too bad, because he’d win,” Ilia says. “But listen, we can talk about how cool your kid is any time. I wanna hear about this new friend of yours." Blake’s smile takes on an altogether different tone.
“Her name is Yang,” Blake says. “She’s…” Blake doesn’t even know where to start.
“You slept with her?”

- and her arm. that was a stark loss.arrested, labelled a delinquent and forced with a year of probation, she’s shipped off to the renowned atlas academy with one singular goal: make it through the year without getting into trouble.
nowhere did they say to avoid reforming the shitty adults within atlas one by one by entering their minds and forcing them to repent. neither did they tell her not to fall for someone that could lead her to her downfall, or her salvation, simply depending on her mood.
but hey.
at least life is more exciting when you have a personification of your psyche that can hurl fire at your foes. it’s just a pity she can’t use her extracurricular activities to skip classes.
