   Summary

   Jake was the quiet kid Drew pulled into his friend group freshman year. By sophomore year, Drew couldn't stop watching him. Something about Jake made Drew's chest tight in ways he didn't understand.

   Junior year changed everything when Jake joined Music Club. Drew and his friends started mocking the club members. Jake stopped sitting with them, stopped answering when Drew called out in the halls. The rejection stung worse than Drew wanted to admit.

   They fought in the stairwell over something that wasn't really about anything. After, Jake pretended Drew didn't exist. Drew told himself he didn't care, but the anger he felt was really just hurt wearing a different face.

   By the time they both realized what had happened between them, it was too late to take any of it back. They became strangers who used to know each other.

   For the last..what, eight years? No no..it must’ve been longer.
   Since Drew was 4 years old, maybe?
   Was that the last time he felt at home?
   Nevermind.. that’s a lie.
   There was a time, when he was 13.
   But-
   But Jake was home.
   He was home, in the loveliest way possible.
   Now..now he’s home in the worst way.
   Does that make sense?
   Drew doesn’t think so, and it confuses him. And pisses him off.
   He hopes Jake never sleeps again.

   Drew is an angsty teen who I gave the most absurd backstory ever <3 Watch as he breaks down, and maybe builds himself back up again? I don’t know, I’m still thinking (seriously).
