After Caine returns to the circus, he spends a lot of time regretting everything from before. Especially now that another member has abstracted, he realizes all the harm he's caused, and wants to change himself and the circus to better help the humans. It may take some time to gain their trust back, if he even can at all, but now he has a new goal in his sights that isn't power or love: it's seeing the humans happy.
