Or he was running away and was finally going to be out of Techno’s hair. (Or he had had another one of his nightmares, the kind where his face screwed up in pain and his entire body tensed up impossibly and he thrashed and kicked all in horrible deafening silence). He looked… He looked fragile, all knobbly knees and bony frame, like a fawn about to take its first steps. Well, maybe if the fawn had lived eighty lifetimes and gained the sunken eyes to match. Techno thought maybe he could see Tommy’s hands shaking.
