When Akaza miscalculated how much time he had left before the sun would rise during his fight with Kyojuro, he was forced to retreat before he could turn the Flame Pillar into a demon - or kill him. Kyojuro was left gravely injured and the path of recovery would be slow, but he was alive.

Summary
Nine tails of fire swayed behind his figure, wrapped in a warm-colored kimono reminiscent of autumn. A white haori with scarlet, flame-like ends fell elegantly over his broad shoulders, on which lay long, thick blond hair with red tips. Two little flames with a singular ear-like shape emerged from his hair, making him more similar to a kitsune than a demon.
The eyes that were returning the Demon Slayer's gaze were golden with black sclera, and they were marked with kanji that Akaza could hardly have confused or misinterpreted: it was the Upper Moon Two.
For a moment, Akaza hoped he was wrong. After all, why would the Upper Moon Two have been there? It didn't make sense. Only a lesser demon had been reported in that area - the one Akaza was chasing - and not an Upper Moon. However, the kanji visible in the newcomer's eyes were all too clear and reported the rank of that demon.Series

Summary
When the sun rose over the corpse of the Mugen Train, Akaza fled into the forest with the Flame Hashira hot on his heels.
Kyojuro had thought he'd lost the demon in the woods until he stumbled across his hiding spot. With little choice left to him, Akaza dragged the swordsmen into the cramped space of the animal burrow he was forced to shelter in.
With no space between them, and the slayer and demon both in season, it's only a matter of time before the tension snaps.

Summary
Kyojuro had mostly meant it as a joke after a particularly awkward week of hiding the hickeys Akaza left on him from his coworkers, and more importantly, his students.
“This is what people do when their dogs won’t stop chewing on things, right? They give them a bone,” he’d snarked, holding out the bone shaped bit gag and laughing at his own joke while Akaza’s brain screeched to a halt and then broke.
He stares at it for a moment before throwing it on the bed next to the lube.
