Summary
They always come and get him, no matter how tired he is, no matter how long it takes to rouse him. He understands, and never begrudges them for it. The Plants are important, and Vash is an important part of fixing them.
But sometimes, treacherously, he wishes they would try to handle the problem on their own, that they would let him sleep.
Healing a Plant, for Vash, means taking its pain away. But that pain has to go somewhere, and he is the only Plant who is able to take it.

Vash loses himself a bit more as the hours drag on. His most embarrassing truth: he cannot remain clear headed for very long. Decades and centuries as the planet’s number one gunman and bounty, but he can never seem to break the habit of losing himself. He’s gone through a few good streaks before, a few good months where he feels fine, but without fail there’s a sudden spell in time that drags him out of his skin and leaves him completely detached. It’s like a static that forms in the back of his head and grows stronger and stronger until he feels less like a person and more like an illusion-- until it takes over completely and he’s left fumbling with his own words, his own actions, his own thoughts.

oh my god this series MMMGHFH it makes me insane to think about reigen communicating with his loved ones, completely and truly like smth about HIM of all people being forced into honesty and being loved and cared for regardless it makes me INSANE!!! IT MAKES ME INSANEEEE it’s so well written and sweet and makes my heart very very happy i love this and i hope theres more like seriously i’m at the end of my shift and very tired and a little bit insane and this helped me push through it AAAAGH thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
