If you hadn’t been looking into his eyes, you would have thought the question was genuine. But Captain Levi seemed to be a book that was particularly easy for you to read.
"Who knows?" you said, studying him in return, searching the face that seemed to hold so many stories for you.
"Yeah. Who knows," Levi echoed, his gaze lingering on you for just a second too long before he turned away and continued walking.

Summary
