Summary
Buck doesn't notice it at first.
Accidents happen in their line of work, and despite their training, despite all of the precautions and protocols they follow down to the letter, injuries are a common occurrence.
Bruises. Burns. Minor concussions.
They happen.
So it takes Buck nearly three weeks to really notice just how often they seem to be happening to Eddie.

Summary
“They left the heart in the body,” Soap explained, trying to remember everything he watched last night. “Ancient Egyptians didn’t really give a fuck about the brain. It was the heart that held everything. Destroying or even removing the heart was as good as destroying everything about a person. They couldn’t pass through the afterlife without it. The person’s soul would be condemned.”
“Bleak,” Ghost offered.
Or: Soap gets hyperfixated on mummification, and Ghost hunts down the man who tortured Soap.

Summary
“So literally just—ask him,” Hen says. “With words. Say ‘hey, Buck, we’ve been functionally living together for years, want to actually move in’?”
“No,” Eddie tells the tabletop.
“I’ve gotta say,” Chim says and, by the sound of it, puts away the magazine he wasn’t reading. “This seems like a crisis of your own making.”
“How?” Eddie says, into a patch of something sticky they should probably wipe up before Bobby gets here.
“You’re the one who wants to ask him to move in via meme.”
or, the one in which embracing the meme life turns out to be more complicated than eddie expected.

Summary
“Glad to see someone is happy I’m here,” Buck yells into the house, and only gets the rustle of paper bags and a vague grunt in response. He leans down and whispers into Christopher’s ear: “Was he being a Kermit again?”
Christopher nods so hard that some of his hair ends up in Buck’s mouth.
“It’s so bad,” he whispers back. “You need to move in with us already.”
how is eddie diaz like kermit the frog? let buck and christopher count the ways.

Summary
Eddie leans back a little, his arms locked tightly around Buck’s waist. “I said I wanted a hug.”
“Is this not what we’re doing right now?”
“'s not a good hug.”
“It’s not?”
“Nope. It’s not how I want it, so it’s not a good hug,” Eddie says resolutely, looking at Buck like he should know this.
“Okay, and how do you want it?”
“I want you to hold me.” Buck’s heart jumps at the words.
“I am holding you.”
“Well, hold me harder,” Eddie demands, his cold nose finding its way into Buck’s neck.
Buck suppresses a gasp as his arms tighten helplessly around Eddie. He pulls him closer to his body, pressing his nose into soft, messy hair. A happy sigh leaves Eddie’s mouth while he relaxes into Buck’s hold.
There's a good chance that Buck is dreaming right now but he decides to just enjoy the moment for what it is because he might not get the chance to embrace Eddie like this ever again. It will go back to normal once his best friend is sober again. He's sure of that.
Or, Eddie appears on Buck's doorstep, clingy and clearly drunk, demands cuddles, crawls into Buck's hoodie, and accidentally confesses his love. It changes everything.
