WARREN: I’m just not used to spending Christmas with someone, either. Not that I don’t want Gordon’s company, just that I was hoping I’d be able to relax with him during the holidays. Instead I’m sat hunched over my phone, trying to figure out what the hell he’d like as a gift that is sincere and not at all linked to Sonic.

This is as canon compliant as I wanted it to be. I watched A Knight’s Tale again and this appeared, fully formed in my mind. These idiots would absolutely, 100% confess their love via movie quotes.

There’s times where they don’t get to do much, because others are around and neither of them are super into PDA, but there’s still moments where they’re sitting close together, where Warren will have his pinky finger brushing Gordon’s hand. And Gordon will see someone, usually Hester, out of the corner of his eyes and can see her giving the two of them a soft smile, a faint sadness there, but it’s still happy. He’ll kiss Warren’s cheek when no one is around, just to keep his thoughts from sliding somewhere else.
