Summary
Draco Malfoy begins his fourth year at Hogwarts with the weight of his father’s expectations hanging over him, especially after Lucius hints at a dangerous plan unfolding at the school. When Draco overhears a conversation about someone secretly entering Harry Potter’s name into the Goblet of Fire, he faces a choice: follow his father’s path for him or take control of his own. Acting on impulse, Draco beats them to it, placing Harry’s name into the Goblet himself… and, in a moment of reckless defiance, adds his own as well. What follows is a twist on the Triwizard Tournament where rivalry, loyalty, and identity blur, forcing Draco to confront who he truly wants to be.

This is a series re-write starting with Book 5. Everything from up until then is canon compliant. Harry learns of the importance of his role in the war ahead after doubting himself following the death of Cedric Diggory and Voldemort's resurrection. In the midst of a war, he learns that he wants more for his life than just to survive. He wants love and to be loved. After fighting in the war in the first fic, Voldemort's death doesn't bring the peace and normalcy Harry thought he had always wanted. There are mysteries to unravel, evil to defeat and relationships to maintain. Harry's life was never meant to be simple.

Summary
Eighth year, and Draco fully intends not to piss people off more than they already were. However, he’s not the best at this so of course, he fails barely three days in. And Potter, per usual, needs to be the solution to every problem.
"Draco choked out a hysterical laugh that got caught in his throat halfway through, and grabbed the homework he was supposed to be working on. He headed to his room holding back tears. Draco pushed open his door, and closed it behind him. He stood there for a moment, trying to catch his breath, even though it felt that each time he inhaled, air was moving farther and farther away. "
"“How would you know? You don’t know me.” His jaw clenched, and Draco blinked back any emotion.
“Yes, I do!” Potter insisted on shoving his wand up at Draco, as a demonstration of his pathetic lack of control.
Draco corrected him. “No. You know the worst of me.”
“That’s enough.” Potter remembered himself, and put his wand down, stepping back. He didn’t put it away, however. Why did this always happen? Not once did Draco take out his own wand. ""

"The potion," Malfoy gasped.
It was the only warning he got before a thick plume of smoke descended on them, filling the room.
Harry couldn't help but breathe in surprise. It tasted sweet, almost cloyingly so.
"Bloody hell, I think I know what happened," Malfoy said. Harry couldn't even hear him properly, not until he was grabbed roughly by the arm and away from the hard floor to the soft bedding of one of their beds. "Potter, you absolute fucking fool. You turned our potion into a lust potion."
or: harry was getting used to having malfoy as his eighth year roommate. just his luck though, one potion project threatens to ruin it all.

Yes, Draco thinks miserably. I’ve just realised I want to kiss you, and worse, that this is the second time I’ve had that thought, which is entirely unacceptable and requires immediate removal from your presence.
