Satoru dreams of giving a child that same freedom, raising him with love. Their dreams are beautiful. Full of hope. In that dream, Satoru gives Megumi hope. And Megumi gives Satoru something just as fragile in the same dream. But reality tears them apart. Satoru wakes to a life where he has never lost anything: his best friend, his lover, his husband: Geto Suguru. He is a teacher now, guiding two students, haunted by the absence of a third he can’t remember.
Megumi wakes to punishment. To a world where freedom is distant and mercy is rare. He is Zen’in, and that is not a legacy to be proud of.
Two lives. Two realities. Bound only by a dream they remember each other through.

Megumi Fushiguro’s wings are matted and dirty. They’re folded tightly to his back, smashed under an aged backpack held together by silver duct tape and hope. The very tips of crumpled primaries twitch where they poke out from under the kid’s oversized coat. Satoru, standing over the boy, peering down his nose at him, feels something akin to desperation at the sorry state of his feathers.
“When was the last time you were bathed?” The question is layered with many more that Satoru would like to volley at the chick. He holds his tongue,a decision that was well made, the boy flinches back, just slightly and glares up at Satoru warily. The disarray of his wings extends to his hair, and down into his pale face, smeared with exhaustion and hunger.

Or: For once in his life, Gojo made the right choice—he took in the Fushiguro siblings as his own. But loss had a way of creeping back in, and when Megumi shattered after Tsumiki was gone, Gojo saw himself in the boy. He knew that pain, that loneliness. But no matter how hard things got, neither of them was alone. Not this time.
Just a bunch of angst and fluff because I really think gojo was a good father.
