    You looked up. And he looked down.
    The moment couldn’t have lasted more than a few seconds, but for that moment things seemed suspended in time. Eyes of deepest brown stared down into yours, flicking first over your face, then to the hair haloed around your head, drifting gently in the currents of the water. Your arms stayed around his neck to hold you in place, but with the abruption of motion you now drifted up and against him, your chest brushing the hard armour on his own as your legs tangled. No longer needing to hold tight to your waist, the arm holding you there moved, and you were stunned when it rose to your face. A finger crooked under your chin and tilted it up so he might study you better, and dark eyes glinted in the half light.
