.Eggman’s war ended, but Sonic didn’t. Two years lost in a coma, he wakes to find his friends have moved on, his body patched together, and his speed forbidden. Shadow offers him a place to stay—not out of kindness, but something harder to name. Between medical checkups, quiet mornings, and questions he doesn’t want to answer, Sonic has to relearn how to live in a world that doesn’t need its hero anymore.
Or, Sonic missed two years of his life, and Shadow takes him into his home. One way or another, his mind forces him to cope in unimaginable ways. (this story includes age regression eventually, not centric though! Its more so recovery focused.)
