Summary
Members of his crew taking some relief in each other doesn't change the path Stede’s life has taken. He has long decided that deciphering these matters is not important or proper, or even relevant when everyone he knows who experienced such things in youth married eventually anyway. Stede is certainly beyond the point of his life wherein intimate matters are of consequence to him. He is here for an adventure, not a love story.
Then, he meets Blackbeard.

Summary
Stede draws his attention back to the head massage, alternating pressure from the kind of bruising that’s enough to knead a migraine away, to gentle, delicate strokes through his hair. A quick glance at the clock reveals it’s been far, far longer than three-to-five minutes.
Stede doesn’t mind, obviously. And Ed doesn’t seem to be about to question it. But the snide little Lucius-like voice in the back of his mind points out that almost twenty fucking minutes is maybe a bit of an overkill.
Stede yanks his hands away from Ed’s hair like it’s covered in bleach.
“Okey-doke!” Stede manages, voice shrill and a little strangled.
From across the salon, the real Lucius snorts.
(OR: Stede's a hair stylist. Ed shows up for an appointment. And shows up. And shows up. And shows up...)

“Are you here for the free walking tour?” Teal Umbrella Guy says. He’s around Ed’s age, obviously bundled up in multiple layers, and wearing a very nice coat that suggests that either he’s an exceptionally good tour guide, or that the money’s coming from somewhere else. (It must be that one, there’s no one else here.) His face lights up, hopeful - probably at the prospect that he might have one taker on what is, objectively, a really shitty day to be outside. A properly expressive face, Ed thinks, now he can see it close up.
Teal Umbrella Guy whips a phone out, goes to an app. “Did you sign up online? Through the Gentleman Tourguide?” The umbrella is doing some pretty precarious things now that the guy is focused on his screen, and Ed takes a half step back to prevent a stabbing.
He’s got no idea how the guy manages the hairstyle he’s got going on, golden hair curled to perfection, like no hand should touch it.
Ed immediately wants to touch it.

The first video Jeff ever uploaded is titled A Cosy Evening With Your Boyfriend [SFW Male Voice ASMR], and the moment Stede’s brain registers the words, he’s struck with an incomprehensible urge to look away, as though he’s looking at something unbelievably scandalous.

Summary
It’s the summer of 1959, and classics professor Stede Bonnet is determined to become a new man. He’s made two monumental changes so far: he’s resigned his position at the University of Chicago, where he has taught for his entire career, and he’s left his wife Mary, to whom he has been married for nine years. Now he’s off to the only place in the United States where you can get a no-fault divorce: the deserts of Nevada. He’s checking in to a so-called Divorce Ranch just outside of Reno, where he’ll spend the requisite six weeks establishing residency. After that, it’s off to California to assume his new teaching position and his new life.
It's the summer of 1959. Ed Teach has been living in Reno since he was a teenager. He's a radio DJ, an artist, a handyman and a fixture of the community, particularly popular in the underground gay nightlife scene that is still recovering from the brutal vice raids of the McCarthy era.

No! Hecate shakes her large, rough gray head. No, oh my god, no. Have you heard of metaphor? Are you familiar with fucking—flights of fancy, figures of speech? The surest way to make Blackbeard okay again is to reunite him with Stede Bonnet, is that clear enough, you complete and utter maniac?
[Prompt from NyquilPlot: essentially, Izzy realizes the error of his ways and decides the only way to fix it is to work with Lucius and Jim to trick Ed and Stede into reuniting. Summary
The problem with playing arenas is that, from the stage, every arena looks basically the same. Metal frameworky bits, lots of lights overhead, big screaming crowd of people, not much else to see. The people tend to scream pretty much the same stuff every night, too. It's all, “Woooo, Blackbeard!” and “Yeahhh, Blackbeard!” and “Play Stop Or I'll Make You Eat Your Toe!”
Over and over, all around the world, ad infinitum. If Blackbeard wasn’t a solo act, he would’ve broken up by now.
Ed misses the stuff that makes rock real. The passion. The rabble-rousing.
He’s got a couple of days between tours, and for once, just once, he wants to start a night without knowing how it'll end.

The problem with his plan (besides the obvious, which is that he has absolutely no intention of following through) is that he didn't account for the possibility that Stede would show up without anyone having to find him, red-faced and furious and bursting with love, over the side of his boat, looking all windswept and gorgeous, and challenge him to a duel.
Because that would be absolutely mental.
And that's what happens, because of course, Ed's forgotten who he's dealing with.

Now that Stede was a proper pirate and had abandoned his life of riches, it was time he started acting like one, raiding ships to make a name for himself.
They capture their first ship successfully, thanks to Ed’s training, but nothing in the world could prepare Stede for what he found among the loot - a decorated coffin and in it, was Ed.
“That’s not Ed, mate,” Oluwande informed.
Stede looks up through his sobs, “Are you sure?”
Meanwhile, Viago is just trying to discreetly shrink as far into the coffin as he could so the ray of sunshine doesn’t touch him.
