Simon was devoted from the first moment he woke up, helplessly worshipful of the light that had brought him back from the brink, the eccentric and often silly man that smiled and laughed and cried and allowed Simon to do all of those things without fear of judgement. The man that was so willing to help him learn so much he had been denied, so willing to lead Simon through a life he had never once been allowed to live. Ryland may not have been a real angel per say, but to Simon, he was his angel. Ryland Grace had saved his life, in so many more ways than the genius could even imagine.

Rocky and Simon don't get along, it takes an accident with the Eridian atmosphere to collaborate on something they both care about, Grace. Which leads Simon to get Rocky to agree to a long awaited marriage proposal between the two humans. Especially after they bond over their mutual grudges against Stratt when Grace has a nightmare.

Simon escaped the blood ocean. He has a wounded arm, a malfunctioning escape pod, and no one left to talk to except the static.
Grace has been alone on the Hail Mary for longer than he cares to admit. He has no rescue ship, no medbay within range, and no way to help except through a crackling radio signal.
But sometimes a voice is enough. Sometimes a stranger counting to three hundred is the difference between giving up and holding on.
Two men, alone in the dark, learning that comfort doesn't require touch — just someone on the other end who refuses to stop listening.

Summary
This had been a recurring cycle for about the past week, they would get ready for bed, watch a movie they've already seen a hundred times over, and simon would go to their bedroom with grace promising to follow suit. Simon would wait for about 30 minutes before coming out to drag his angel to bed.
Or: Grace is being avoidant again and Simon is starting to lose his patience!
