Summary
Jayce and Viktor had been expecting to die when they grasped for each other as the crystal imploded in their clasped hands. They were not expecting it to deposit them unceremoniously three years into the future.
This could be a gift, a second chance afforded to them to atone for the wrongs of the past and live the future on their own terms, together. Or it could be a curse, to live out the remainder of their days in a world that no longer has space for them in it.
Viktor and Jayce navigate the new reality they find themselves in with a little help from some familiar faces, and come to terms with how they really feel about each other.

Summary
The commune had given Viktor new purpose - a reason to go on after the hexcore had claimed a victim in Sky and the war had claimed a victim in him. He was supposed to die. At least now he could do something with this strange new life the arcane had offered him.
The sudden arrival of Jayce, altered by the arcane and afraid of Viktor's touch, presents a new challenge. When faced with the object of his desires seemingly back from the dead, Viktor is torn between his goal of healing others with the arcane, and letting himself feel the emotions Jayce has brought bubbling to the surface.

“Yeah?” Robert's hands still on Waterboy's tie, “What gave it away?”
“You're so small.” He looks like he regrets the words immediately, face going pale before flushing again, “I-I m-mean- mean”
Robert's low laugh cuts him off, “Oh yeah, what of it?” He leans back, letting the tie slip from his fingers, “You got a problem with that, Big boy?”
Waterboy nearly floods the couch.
“Jesus.” Robert curses.

Jayce stares blankly at Viktor's finger on the paper, the straight lines and neat handwriting beneath it. It's just dates and numbers. Nothing to corroborate what he thinks he just heard. "Sorry, can you say that again?"
"Twenty point seven seconds. I think—this seems promising, no?"
"No, I." Jayce says. "You—" He closes his eyes for a moment to gather himself, takes a breath. "Uh, Viktor? Whose semen did you feed into the Hexcore?"
Viktor spins in the stool, and Jayce can finally see, with a rush of homesickness, his golden eyes, the impatient set of his mouth. "What do you mean, whose semen? My semen. Who else would—what kind of unethical operation do you think I'm running here?"
