It was supposed to disappear, Mike thought after Vecna was killed he wouldn't have to worry anymore because the symptoms will go away.
It makes sense.
So why has it been three years and it's only gotten worse?
The secret hidden to ease others and not cause more damage is now getting harder to hide as more blood drips from his nose, sleepless nights show through the dark circles under his eyes, and headaches so bad he goes through bottle after bottle of Advil all to hide the truth.
It’s starting to concern those closest to him.
But those are not the scariest part, they come before and after the recurring "Episodes".How long can Mike keep this hidden before the guilt and shame eat away at him or worse...Will finds out.

“We need to talk,” Lucas says quietly. He looks at Mike, his expression unreadable. “About what we saw. And what that thing knew.”
Nancy meets Mike’s eyes in the rear-view mirror. Her gaze is hard, questioning. Distrustful.
“Woah, woah!” Mike throws his hands up, nearly hitting Will as he recoils from their accusatory stares. The guilt is still burning in his chest, but defensiveness is a quicker shield. “Guys, I don’t know what he was talking about! I thought the shadow was all in my head and lied about that, yes, but I’m not hiding anything else!”
OR: Mike’s denial of his feelings for Will finally catches up to him as Vecna pulls out all the stops to ensure his plans come to fruition, hell-bent on disrupting the group’s carefully maintained harmony.
Three weeks after Max’s near-death and miraculous survival, the Party is unexpectedly dragged back into a world of nightmares. And this time, all of them getting out of this alive doesn't feel like it will be easy.

It’s not like Will owes anything to him.
But Mike has claimed his ownership regardless. He wants all of Will, and Will is usually willing to give it to him. Tonight, he wants Will to have all of him, too. Just him and nobody else.
“Tell me you’re mine,” he slurs into his ear, mouth wet and hot against the shell of it.
Mike and Will can't let go of each other, so they hold on tighter. Grip until it hurts. Who else could hold all of them like this, anyway?

Her voice isn't loud, but it seems to echo throughout the entire parking lot.
Mike stops mid-stride. “Show me what?”
“What it would be like. What you would have.” A beat. “With him.”

Summary
Even after giving himself a few more minutes, it was still difficult to pull his hand back when he did. Mike grabbed his own wrist, as if to keep his hand from reaching out again, but he still couldn't bring himself to look away. One thing was clear. Something was very wrong with Mike. He definitely was possessed. And as he watched a sleeping Will bury his face deeper into his pillow, he had to face an uncomfortable truth.
The one possessing him wasn't Vecna. But he very much wished it was.

Mike doesn't want to acknowledge that he has feelings for Will and chooses to believe it's just Vecna possessing him lol
