robert is not his father, or like so many other heroes: he does not need to be special to everyone, does not need every person to laud him or his work. all robert wants is to be special to one person. that's it. he just desires one person who can see past mecha man, past the hand-me-down name, past the hurt, the trauma, and mess— and likes what they see, and thinks it's worth the "trouble" of dealing with.
