“‘Cause I’m stupid… ‘nd damaged,” Han’s voice trailed off into a bit of a laugh, pulling his head back but keeping his eyes ducked. Her chest tightened. “And you’re a disaster.” Leia made a disbelieving, offended noise, which only made Han’s small, sad smile grow. It faltered and fell on his next line, his voice giving his true feelings away. “And you live two thousand god damn miles away.”

Summary
There were five, small, finger-print shaped bruises that decorated the skin around her hipbone. Memories, more sensations than full thoughts, filtered through her body of the night before. She hummed, contently, throwing Han a mischievous, mirthful look over her shoulder.
“You held on tight,” she joked, letting her shoulder fall against the bed until she was lying flat.
Han didn’t move. With the light, she could now see that while she found the situation amusing, maybe even stirring something in her low belly — he was horrified. His face was drawn, the color leeched from it, disappearing into that place in his head where Leia couldn’t reach him. She frowned, her brows pulling together, but he refused to meet her eye.
Or, Han accidentally bruises Leia and proceeds to beat himself up about it for twelve hours.

Summary
It was a gag gift.
It was something stupid Han picked up on a mission off-planet that he thought would make her laugh, and nothing more. It had made himself chuckle when he saw it in the window of a particularly seedy shop in an even seedier city he’d been sent to to quell any whisperings of Imperial influence. He hadn’t expected her to look at him under lidded, sparkling eyes, voice low with seduction, and take him seriously when he’d brought it back, flourishing the item with a wink and a handy quip.
Hell, he didn’t take himself seriously. He especially wouldn’t if someone else had handed him this thing as a joke.
He should have known better, even a year into marriage, Leia was still surprising him every single day.
