Marlene McKinnon stares at Dorcas with her bloodied hands up, bleached hair in disarray with flesh tangled there, in the middle of the woods with only her duck pattern underwear on. Most of her clothes, shredded by her too sharp nails, are floating away in the river rushing behind her. It means losing evidence but there is still enough on McKinnon, blood slipping down her elbows while her chin drips enough of it to darken her crimson blooming turtleneck.
