The Blue Lions professor spent countless cycles trying to save Dimitri from the darkness in his heart, nearly losing himself in the process. The flow of time never changed—that is, until he met Yuri. Since then, Byleth has been fighting for a way to stop the endless time loop, so that he can finally live the peaceful life he yearns for. Except his time is running out: Those Who Slither in the Dark always find him during his five years spent asleep, giving him two new Crests in an attempt to turn him into the perfect weapon—a process which is beginning to literally kill him.
