Summary
The topic starts to dwindle down and Seungmin’s tears slow, but one thing sticks with Chan the rest of the time they spend filming their segment.
Seungmin said, “I just like you despite all of that,” meaning there’s so much wrong with Chan, but he still cares about him anyway.
“I’ll do better,” Chan had promised after, like he had so many other times over the years, hoping at some point it’ll actually stick.
By the end of their talk, Chan feels stripped bare, fragile, and raw, but he can’t let any of that show with the cameras on his face, so he just tries to smile and move past it. He’ll internalize it for another day—another night when he can’t find sleep no matter what he does. He’ll torture himself with thoughts of every little thing that’s wrong with him, but that’s what he deserves after getting it so wrong time and time again.

Here stood the named princes of two opposing Fae Courts, only one of them had renounced his title and ran far away not wanting to be found. Here Seungkwan was found and his perfect, peaceful bubble he created for himself in this bakery was about to pop. But it wasn’t he who spoke first in terror.
