Armand reached out, took Daniel’s dark curls in a fist and dragged Daniel a mere breath away from his lips. “I don’t think you want that, do you?”
Daniel was panting with want before Armand even finished his sentence. He wanted to push forward, press his open mouth against Armand’s, but the grip on his hair was strong. It held him exactly where Armand wanted to keep him.
Queen of the Damned was ‘transparently sadomasochistic’.
This fic’s gonna pull Armand and Daniel from the likes of Anne’s inherently fantasy based Beauty trilogy and into a modern au transparent Master/slave dynamic between a Master of colour and his white boy.

Summary
Daniel sees life like a river. Thinks he is caught up in a current that only goes one way, that will eventually sweep him out to sea. It’s easier for him to think so. It keeps him alive to think so.
He doesn’t know that he could stand up and reach the bottom. He doesn’t know he has a choice.
Drugs don’t work, sex doesn’t work, New York hasn’t worked. Somewhere in the Appalachian Mountains, an improbable number of suicides have taken place. Somewhere in a bar in New York, Daniel hears about them. He wants to fill a void. The difference between what is real and what isn’t matters as little to him as the things he’ll find to throw into the darkness. Which, as it turns out, is quite a lot.

“It’s fine, Daniel,” he says, and has the gall to fucking roll his eyes too, like Daniel is having some wholly unwarranted fit of the vapours. Meanwhile, there’s blood already dribbling down to his knee.

As you may know 1970’s was a ripe time for all sorts of cults. Some about God, some about Sex and some about Murder…
So it seemed only natural to write a story in which Armand is still a cult leader in the 70’s, only now his coven consists of disillusioned hippies quite in love with that 'easeful death' thing.Daniel is a broke journalist who decides to check this cult out just ‘cause he has nothing else to do and can get a story out of it.
And of course he’s far too clever to fall for that type of thing himself...This is a story about the perils of addiction, curiosity and longing.
We have 1970's trinkets, jealous cultists, desert diners and writing advice as a torture method.
Plus there are messy sex, Armand's traumatic flashbacks and all the strange ways in which one can be tender.

Finally, Daniel sank into the couch and drew a blanket up over his legs. Switched on the TV to a random program and pretended to be absorbed in it, as if he wasn’t vibrating with nerves at the thought of Armand’s arrival. He curled into a ball, digging himself deeper under the blanket, and tried to quiet his thoughts, take them somewhere nicer. It didn’t work. Not really. Every other thought was intermixed with images of the dirty bathroom, of the water in the sink, the feeling of hands pinning his arms behind him. Daniel shook his head like he could physically clear the thoughts. He trained his eyes on the TV, curled his knees up to his chest, and waited for the sun to set.
OR: An old friend from Daniel's past comes to visit him in New York. When things turn violent, Daniel escapes and attempts to hide the truth from Armand while dealing with the aftermath of the attempted assault.

All needs up to that point will be met -surpassingly so, I must admit, as I can be rather doting. There will be no need to consider expenses as they will be covered entirely by myself-
"-There will be a rigorous interview process consisting of correspondence by email..." Daniel shook his head, laughing. "Of course, buddy. I'm sure I'll have a lot of competition." He raised his whiskey glass to his lips and wet them. "If this sounds like an amenable blah blah... Christ, this guy is verbose. I'll have to bring along a thesaurus to keep up."
Daniel Molloy was 24, not too muscular, and no more than 200lbs. He was also steadfast and enterprising -when he could keep his nose clean- and had nothing more interesting to do than chase a story about an independently wealthy man with the screen name Botticelli_Angel who seemed to have the world's most taboo kink. Daniel could play the part, see where the story took him for a while. If shit got too weird, he'd dip. (Spoiler: He doesn’t dip.)

Lestat, who knew Louis so well, knew that the pureness was the reason that he hadn't killed or fed from him. He saw the pureness and beauty and wanted it to stay like that. Untouched by the inky black they tainted the world with.
He would not allow Lestat to stain this boy without a fight. He would follow him after the boy ran out of the room, would follow Lestat as he took him. Claudia had kept Louis by his side for decades, but it had not lasted. He never should have turned that child; he should have allowed her to die. But this boy wasn't a child, he wouldn't be trapped in the body of one as he grew. Still, he was not grown, not truly, he was innocent and young enough to need protection. “Stay out of my head,” it comes to him easily, the biting complaint, the one he’s clung to for weeks now. How long had it been since Louis left? How long had he been a vampire? It all swirls in his mind, he’s never been so unsure about anything in his life, even when he’d been drugged out, overusing so Armand would come save him, always hopeful he’d get close enough to the brink of death to be turned. It never worked. Why had it worked this time? Why had he finally been given it now? He didn’t want it anymore — did he?
“Hey, focus on me,” Louis speaks and then a warm hand is on his cheek and Daniel can hear the blood rushing through it. The way it sloshes around under Louis’ skin, the beat of his undead heart, pumping through him with a meal. Had he killed? More likely he had his blood bags on his plane, that private jet Daniel had gotten to fly on to get here from New York. He’s so tired of cold blood from bags, he wants something real, can feel his fangs pushing through his gums at the idea of being able to turn his head, to press into Louis’ flesh, to drink his fill from a pulsing heart.
