Something that looked like love, glimmering in unshed tears at the corners of his eyes, hanging off the tip of his tongue as it lolled in confusion against the teeth in his lower jaw. "For me?"
Fuck those puppy eyes, Hugo thought. Why isn't my Lycaon this cute any more? What happened? However badly we did by each other, why didn't we try to work something out? When did we get so fucking old and bitter and incorrigible?
"Of course I would," Hugo snapped. "You're my partner. Why wouldn't I go back for you?"

Young thief Lycaon walks into a rift in time, into a future where his drastically changed self and Hugo seem to have split up - badly - and don't work or live or even talk together much any more. He is, of course, intent on returning to his own Hugo, but he also wants to know what happened between these two, and how to make sure it doesn't happen to him and his Hugo.

Wise squints that the man across from him. He’s no medical expert, but he’s fairly certain that isn’t a reliable cure for insomnia. Still, Lighter sits across from him, speaking low and casual without a hint of hesitation. That has to mean he knows what he’s doing… right?
“We’ll uh… We’ll let Yanagi know you’re interested.”
In a bid to bid to alleviate their colleague of his chronic insomnia, section 6 seeks out someone who could alleviate his condition.
They succeeded, of course, but the man up to the task has some… unconventional methods.

What?
Shadow’s grip on the hedgehog’s wrist loosens, and he takes a hesitant step back when the stranger leans close and whispers, “Makes me wanna mess you up even more.”
