    “Grace already looks good,” Rocky interrupts. He stops poking and shifts his entire body so that his carapace is now pressed up against Grace’s side. He holds back the urge to whimper at how good the warmth feels on his bare skin, the only thing dividing them being a thin barrier made of xenonite.

    Sometimes, Grace wishes he could touch Rocky without anything in between them. He thinks it would feel perfect, except for the whole ammonia-slash-oxygen thing.

    Just when he thought it couldn’t get worse, Rocky continues, “don’t need to lose weight. Grace is beautiful.”

    Falling in love was never in Shouta’s plans. It’s just something he didn’t think he was meant for. Or maybe a part of him felt that he wasn’t allowed, he’s not entirely sure.

    But as he turns to find Oboro grinning fondly at him, gesturing for Shouta to feed him a slice too, he finally accepts that just maybe, he’s allowed to let it happen more than once.
