Summary
Somewhere between the moment he knocked on Shirasu's door and now, Youichi had completely forgotten about Miyuki.
He'd forgotten all about the ugly twist low in his stomach when he'd seen Miyuki get tackled over during the Seiko game, forgotten all about the sight of Miyuki, hunched over in what seemed like pain back at the Seido dorms, brushing things off as simple laughter with one of his too casual, too rehearsed grins that Youichi had learned to read over the year and a half he'd come to know the idiot he called his best friend. Youichi had even forgotten about the growing suspicion that had clung stubbornly to the back of his mind all throughout the team meeting and all throughout dinner, forgotten about the very reason he came here in the first place.
Because right now, all Youichi could think about was Shirasu's lips against his own, wet and hungry like he was about to devour Youichi, kissing him like he'd been starving for it.

Subject: modeling inquiry
From: [email protected]
Date: April 24, 2:24 AM
hey,
saw your poster on campus, are you still looking for someone to model for your class?
– mei
It had been just a short, casual email. No proper sign-off, no capitalization, and a first name, a simple mei in the plain, sans serif font of his inbox. Youichi simply stared down at his phone again, rereading the email for good measure, as if it would make the only person foolish enough to reply to his ad disappear from the doorframe.

Summary
The seams of the baseball felt foreign against his fingers, leather clammy against his skin, its weight heavier as it sat in his palm. He stepped towards the mound, and it looked daunting at that moment, felt higher than any mountain in Japan, the feeling of it lodging itself deep in his mind, Eijun unsure as he stood in this unfamiliar place.
But when he turned around, Eijun found his eyes.
Miyuki Kazuya.
Or, the five times Miyuki showed his love languages, and the one time Sawamura did.

Summary
In those lonely hours that came after, Kazuya had also learned how ungentle mourning could be, how full of anger. It made him want to break things, to pick out every single one of those stupid sunflower petals one by one, to scream at the hollow spaces his mother had left behind.
Yet despite it all, life had gone on. The sun still rose the next morning, his father still left for work unbelievably early, and the flowers in the hospital room had still withered.

Summary
Narumiya groaned again, this time pushing Youichi’s face away from his, muttering something under his breath about “worst boyfriend” and “worst mistake of my life,” but Youichi simply smirked, because the tip of Narumiya’s ears were red, and that was all the proof he needed that his boyfriend wasn’t actually mad.
Yet despite it all, despite the way he was still buzzing a little from their kiss, exhaustion curled deep into his bones, dragging a yawn from him at the thought of their first of many dinners to come.
And it was only Monday.
