Something is thrown into his lap. “Hey-” he looks up in a mixture of confusion and annoyance.
“Chisel knife. To carve your weapons.” The guy smiles a wonky smile, and green-grey eyes bore curiously into his own. Not seen you before, they say. “If you were paying attention you’d know what was going on.”
“I was paying attention,” George bites out. He already dislikes this guy with his know-it-all manner and...nice eyes. “I’m just having a bad day.”
“You poor thing,” the guy says, dirty blond hair falling into his eyes as he looks down at where George is sitting on the grass. “It’s probably going to get worse.”
In a war against a neighbouring district, the troops are split up into groups of two hundred. George is mesmerised by his group's commander: a captivating enigma with a stupid name.

Summary
"How can I know you’re a star?”
Instead of answering with words, Dream grinned, bright and overly confident, and closed his eyes. It took him a second, but then he started glowing, impossibly bright and warm, light pouring out of him in soft waves that escalated until George had to squint his eyes. Dream started to dissolve around the edges of his vision, and George was shocked into silence.
“There. Was that enough?”
Holy shit. George had found the star.
Or: A star falls. George, a dime-in-a-dozen farmboy, sets out on a journey to retrieve it.

“I thought you like to paint your serious paintings with a reference,” George says.
“I do,” Dream replies simply.
“Aren’t these all men?”
Dream’s throat tightens, “They are.”
“So who was the reference for them?”
“I was,” Dream’s body feels as though it’s gone numb with anxiety.
“Wait, pause.” George says, “You were the reference?”
“Yes George, I was the reference.”
“How?”
“What do you mean how?” Dream laughs easily, “I put a ball gag in my mouth, looked at a mirror, and then painted what I saw. I feel like this is a simple concept George.”

Summary
“We should make some ground rules for the rest of the time we’re handcuffed,” Dream suggests as he scratches the back of his neck with his free hand. It’s his way of showing he’s a little nervous and something George will memorize in the coming hours.“Okay. You have to promise you won’t fall in love with me.” George says it like he’s a little kid pinky promising at the playground — like his words are meaningless and playful, and yet they rip through the air like the delicate glass reflection of a pond is shattered by a small pebble.
“You wish.” Dream gives him a careless answer back, but he has already broken his promise. Because brown eyes have never looked so honey-like, so earthy, so alive, so perfect on another man and it makes him think that lying is okay sometimes.
Or what happens when Dream wakes up with a hangover handcuffed to a cute stranger named George? They are handcuffed for 24 hours and have to figure it out as they go.

The seclusion deepens DNF's romance, but just before things get official, a gnarly fight ruins everything.
Quackity reaches out to cupids again to patch it all up. Indeed, they prove some things are best left to the professionals...

Summary
Like any sport, bare-knuckle boxing is simple. Almost identical rules to regular boxing, except for one obvious difference: there are no gloves.
George isn’t particularly muscular, nor fast, nor tall. Slightly above average, at best. So taking up such a bloody sport might not have been his brightest idea back when he was twenty-two but it sure does pass the time. Though he has a sinking feeling about the new guy who’s gotta be at least six feet and has one hell of an ego.
One more thing. George may be many things— a high school dropout, an ex-con, even a coward— but he isn’t a quitter.

“Why do you have to be so fucking obnoxious all the time,” Dream grits out. It isn’t a question.

Right when he’s talking, Dream rudely interrupts him by surging forward and pressing their lips together.
